What happened this past month (August):
The first weekend of August Joy and Nathan did a lot of chores. We vacuumed our cars (and found some lost items in the process), and did housework. Friday evening we helped with a Single Dance Conference. We had fun preparing the food and lighting the tea lights.
The second weekend we had dinner with friends Janet, Fran, and Don at Outback. Yeah! Protein for the baby! (Joy doesn't normally eat much meat because she doesn't like preparing it.)
The third week we had another appointment with Dr. Clayton. He said baby is doing just fine. She seems to be the average baby. We also went window shopping for a new water heater. We checked Home Depot and Lowe's. On Saturday we got to visit our cousings the Beardens and see their two cute little twins. They are so tiny and cute. Also Auntie Lois prepared a delicious meal for everyone. She's so nice.
The fourth weekend we watched Up! on Friday at the park. I liked the message about life being an adventure, and how we should enjoy this adventure while we are going through it. I think too often I am like the old man Carl and focus on immediate or worldly things instead of on the more important things in life. On Saturday morning Joy went to the Relief Society free swap and gave away some chicken broth and clothes, and she got some cute baby stuff from friends Debi, Mandy, and Rachel. So now baby will have shoes, onesies, and church dresses. We also got a baby bathtub. That afternoon Nathan held an open house for one of his listings, and then we had dinner afterwards at Olive Garden with friends Don & Fran.
The fifth weekend we visited our friend Gaby, who gave us a crib and mattress that was like new. She'd hardly used it, in fact, the mattress was still wrapped in plastic. We are so grateful for a crib for baby. Afterwords we went to Target to update our registry. We thought we should add a couple of things, like a swing, diaper genie refills, diapers, and stuff. This nice lady at the store also told us about teething drops called Nature or Natural with Pooh and Tigger on it that really helped her little boy... so we need to find that too. For date night we ate out at Stadium Brewing Company because we had a coupon.
Current callings: Nathan - ward clerk; Joy - Valiant 8 teacher and choir accompanist.
Nathan has finally finished The Joseph Smith Papers volume 1, which he got from Mom and Dad for his birthday. Now he is reading The Holy Temple by Boyd K. Packer.
This past month Joy has not been reading Charlotte Bronte's The Professor. She keeps meaning to pick the book up, but there is just too much to do.
Joy has been lazy about updating her database of books (see link below).
Happy Summer!

We also have a

Sorry, I can't upload picture at the moment. My computer and camera don't feel like talking to each other right now. When they have patched their relationship again I'll put pictures up.
