What happened this past month (December):
The first weekend of December Joy and Nathan went to Gab and Jess's house to celebrate little Gabby's birthday. It was lots of fun to hang out with their family and friends. That evening we had dinner with our friends the Goodsells. Then on Sunday we enjoyed the LDS First Presidency Christmas Devotional.
The second weekend we went out to eat at Cheesecake Factory with our friends Don and Fran. On Sunday we had dinner with Ren and Rena. It was fun getting to know their family better. They have a lovely house, and many cute pets.
The third weekend we went out to eat at Royal Thai. We didn't like it as much as Thai Bite. I think Thai Bite is by far the best Thai food I have had here. I also used to like Vietnamese hole in the wall place called Viet Hoa in Utah, but they closed and a Rice King replaced them. After Royal Thai we watched Almost Angels. It's an old Disney movie about the Austrian boys choir. One of the lessons I learned this time was that people who are at the top of their class usually don't need someone to go after them because they know how they should be behaving. This was also the week we sent out (I think) our Christmas cards.
The fourth weekend we were in Utah visiting family for Christmas and New Year. Chris and Tami gave us a tent, which is just what we needed for our emergency preparation. Linda and Dave gave us a "Families are Forever" clock. Mom and Dad gave us the Bullough side family history. We didn't know Mom was related to King John. No wonder she is has a regal touch to all she does. April got us a mattress cover and church leader DVDs. Mommy and Daddy gave us books, cards, treats, and several other fun things. We just wish our budget was such that we could have gotten everyone better presents.
We got to do many fun things with family. Linda and Dave had us over at their house several times for dinner. Mommy and Daddy were grateful for this because Mommy was recovering from shoulder surgery and would have had a hard time cooking a Christmas feast. We got to see some of the Auntie Lois's kids. Also Auntie Lois shared with us her Christmas Incident (click to see more about it). We also toured the Condie Candy factory. It's a family run candy shop currently owned by Condies. For the New Year we stayed up playing games with Nathan, April, and Daddy.
On New Years Day we had dinner at Los Hermanos with family for Joy's birthday.
Favorite games placyed this year: Boggle, Scrabble, Settlers of Catan, and Topple (our present to Mommy and Daddy).
Current callings: Nathan - ward clerk; Joy - Valiant 8 teacher and choir accompanist.
Nathan is still reading a book called The Joseph Smith Papers volume 1, which he got from Mom and Dad for his birthday. He says he will probably be reading this for MONTHS, so don't expect much change here.
Joy read some of a book called Christmas Miracles.
She going to read The Arthurian Omen next month.
Joy has been lazy about updating her database of books (see link below).
