What happened this past month (September):
The first weekend of September Joy and Nathan enjoyed the long Labor Day weekend by sleeping in all three days. Joy also went shopping for the upcoming baby shower of one of the people she visit teaches. On Monday we drove down to San Diego and visited Cabrillo National Park. Nathan gets us in for free because he has a lifetime pass. Then we had dinner at an italian restaurant. I was hoping to visit a buffet, but we couldn't find any that weren't Chinese. We're hoping to go to the Spice Market buffet in Las Vegas for Christmas on our way to see family. It's usually delicious.
The second weekend in September we went on Friday to the Elder's Quorum Beach Party. They had hot dogs, hamburgers, salads, chips and lots of desserts. My friend Marcy took the picture of us with the beautiful sunset. Then on Saturday we got to see the talented Graham Macrobie play some illustrious organ music at the High Priest fireside. He's so talented. He just inspires you to want to practice more and become better. He has been practicing organ since he was 5 years old.
The third weekend we were very busy. On Friday we had dinner with our good friends Don and Fran. They treated us to dinner at the Olive Garden. Then on Saturday Joy had lunch with her NDS friends: Mark, Natalie, Dmitri, Divya, Atul, Eric and his wife. That evening we have our friens Debi and Dave over for dinner with their two cute little girls.
The fourth weekend we also kind of split on Saturday night. Joy went to the LDS Relief Society Broadcast. (It's the largest women's organization in the world.) She also sang with the choir before the broadcast. Her notes are in her multicolored notebook.
Current callings: Nathan - ward clerk; Joy - Sunbeam teacher.
Nathan is still reading a book called The Joseph Smith Papers volume 1, which he got from Mom and Dad for his birthday. He says he will probably be reading this for MONTHS, so don't expect much change here.
Joy had read Led By the Hand of Christ by Suzanne Freeman.
Joy is currently reading Voltaire's Candide which is rather depressing... at least so far.
