What happened this past month (June):

The first full weekend of June Joy and Nathan were kept busy. First they replaced their garbage disposal, which had started leaking. Fortunately Joy noticed the kitchen floor was wet and followed the dripping to its source. Then on Saturday we had a baptism in our ward - a young man named Gian. Joy played the piano for this event.
The second weekend in June we had our Stake Conference. The Stake Presidency was reorganized, and we got to hear from Elder Richard G. Scott and Elder Zeitzer (not sure on spelling). They had some wonderful things to teach us. Then on Sunday evening we had some friends over for an ice cream float social.
The third weekend we had Mommy and Daddy visiting from Utah. We had lots of seafood, including a huge 5 pound lobster from Irvine Ranch 99 market. We also visited The Great Park (what little there was), the beach, and Las Brisas. Daddy fixed our screen door, the blinds on our sliding door, replaced our front doorknob, and other useful tasks. We enjoyed having them visit us.
The fourth weekend Joy did a lot of work around the house - laundry, vacuuming, installing earthquake cabinet catches (AKA childproofing the cabinets. Then we went to a barbeque of an aquaintance in Ladera Ranch.

Current callings: Nathan - ward clerk; Joy - Sunbeam teacher.

Nathan is reading a book called The Joseph Smith Papers volume 1, which he got from Mom and Dad for his birthday.
Joy read from a medley of books, including Chicken Soup for the Soul and Fritz Leiber. Next she will be reading Mystery Mile by Margery Allingham. (Carolyn gave this to me a couple of years ago.)
Joy has been lazy about updating her database of books (see link below).

Native flowers of California growing in the landscaping. I wonder if this drives the landscapers crazy or if they like them.

Personal Information: My name is Joy Jo Logan Condie. I graduated in computer science from B.Y.U.
I was born in southern California, but I've spent most of my life in Orem, Utah.
Interests: I've practiced piano since I was eight. (That doesn't necessarily mean I'm any good.) I like to read, especially mystery novels. Agatha Christie is one of my favorite authors. I also like old classics such as Little Women, Anne of Green Gables, and Pride and Prejudice.
