What happened this past month (October):
The first weekend of October Joy and Nathan watched the General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. We enjoyed the messages shared. Also between conference sessions on Saturday Joy had the battery replaced on her watch that Mom (Carolyn) gave her for her birthday a few years back.
The second weekend of October Joy and Nathan got a "Yes on 8" yard sign. We put it up in the window of our condo because we're not allowed to put things in the yard. Joy also went to Savior of the World rehearsal. And then that evening for date night we went to K'ya restaurant in Laguna Beach. It was delicious. They have wonderful salads, steaks, mac & cheese, and deserts.

The third weekend Joy took the Sun Certified Java Programmer 6.0 test. She passed with 80%, so now she is a certified Java Programmer. Also she gets reimbursed from work and a small bonus too. (Half of which the government will take.) On Tuesday they had Relief Society Enrichment night. The dinner there was delicious, and I loved the recipe sharing. The sisters here have lots of wonderful traditional recipes.
The fourth weekend we were again busy. On Friday evening we went to the church's Trunk or Treat. We ate Chili, talked with friends, and passed out candy to the children. Nathan was dressed up as Elvis, and Joy was Elvis's biggest 50s fan.
On Saturday Joy had Savior of the World rehearsal again, and Nathan had PMP class for an upcoming test he's going to take. That evening we did choirs, like piano practice, laundry, and grocery shopping.
Joy is still reading Dana's Two Years Before the Mast.
Next she's going to read one of Heinlein's science fiction pieces.
